Roland Bénabou (Princeton)

Roland Bénabou is Professor of Economics at Princeton University. His research spans macro and microeconomics, in three main areas. (1) Inequality, growth, social mobility and political economy. (2) Social interactions, human capital, and the socioeconomic structure of cities. (3) Behavioral economics, focusing especially on the interplay of extrinsic incentives and intrinsic motivation, on the determinants of prosocial behavior, and on motivated beliefs and cognition, both individual (overconfidence, wishful thinking, identity) and collective (groupthink, market manias, ideology, religion). In 2021 he was awarded the Jean-Jacques Laffont Prize by the Toulouse School of Economics.

Jeanne Hagenbach (CNRS, Sciences Po)

Jeanne Hagenbach is a Research Director at CNRS and Professor of Economics at Sciences Po Paris. Her research interests are in game theory and behavioral economics. She develops models to understand how agents exchange and read information in various strategic settings. In 2020, she was awarded an ERC Starting grant for her project entitled "motivated reading of evidence". In this project, she uses theory and experiments to understand how individuals form and maintain comforting beliefs about the uncertain world they live in.

Ekaterina Zhuravskaya (PSE, EHESS)

Ekaterina Zhuravskaya is a Professor of Economics at the Paris School of Economics (EHESS). Her primary field of interest is political economics with applications to media, ethnic conflict, culture, corruption, and economic history. She is the recipient of the 2018 Birgit Grodal Award, given by the European Economic Association every two years to a European-based female economist who has made a significant contribution to the Economics profession, and the 2019 CNRS Silver Medal. She is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). She got her PhD at Harvard University in 1999 and spent the 10 subsequent years working as Professor at the New Economic School in Moscow. She holds a research grant from the European Research Council. She has published extensively in leading academic journals and is a managing coeditor of the Economic Journal.
